Putting up a punching bag

Hello,

Planning to look around for a punching bag - but I'm not all that handy when it comes to installation of stuff. These things weigh anywhere between fifty and seventy-five pounds, so any tips from you all about how to ensure it's hung proper are helpful.
How do you know you're putting the hook into a beam? I've heard you need to use one of the studs, but how do you tell where they're at? I'd do it near the wall anyway so it's not in the way. The other issue is avoiding the problem of getting it in crooked / unlevel - I realize you just measure off the rope but it's gonna be big and ungainly. I've only worked out on them, never put one in.

Thanks for any info

What about one that sits on the floor? There are punching bags that are held in place by a base that's full of sand, for example.

Thanks good idea. Will see if I can find a big one that sits on the ground: spares problems when moving, and saves having to balance it low enough for adequate kicks as well.
